Abstract: On the basis of the proportion of petroleum and natural gas taken in energy structure of the world and analysis on the development situations of Chinese national economy, the author predicts that China's oil and gas pipeline industry will get a fast progress, in which many oil and gas pipelines being designed and constructed are marked features. With this, the construction and development of oil and gas pipelines will also push forward other industries concerned, such as metallurgical industry, pipe-making industry and machining industry. Meanwhile, with the progress of modern science and technology, many technological issues existed in oil and gas pipeline will be solved in the first decade of the 21st century, and after that time, China will become one of the developed countries in the pipeline industry of the world.
