Abstract:
It is a novel technique to use pipeline booster in oil product pipelines. By use of the test data of Golmud-Lhasa pipeline, its effectiveness of reducing friction and increasing flow, role to release critical bottle neck section, and relation between pipeline booster concentration in fluid and drag reducing and throughput increasing rates, are analyzed in detail. The faults in the test report of BPCI are pointed out also. Based on the analysis above, the paper provides some important points which should be noticed when the technique is adopted.
