Abstract: The automatic welding of spherical tank is a kind of new welding technology that simulates manual arc welding to weld spherical tank in all positions, which has a high productivity and a good welding quality with low manpower in suitable construction environment. The constitution and features of the automatic welding equipment of spherical tank are briefly introduced. Combined with the application of automatic welding technology in spherical tank, the test on technological evaluation, selection of electrode, programming of welding process and features and experiences in the welding are emphatically introduced. Some suggestions on the problems to be focused on and solved in the automatic welding are proposed in the paper.
