Abstract: The description and analysis on surge of process pipeline and its hazards in loading, unloading and delivery of product oil in tank farm have been carried out. The method of simplified calculation on direct surge and indirect surge is introduced. In the article, two countermeasures to be taken to control and eliminate such surge, that is, process operation control and specialized equipments, have been set forth.
